SRC 2019 - 2020

As the president of SRC, I have two main roles. Obviously, I am the representative of Raffles University students. I have to attend a few meetings or conference as the president of RU SRC to communicate with the other SRC of the universities in EduCity.

On the other hand, I work behind the scene as well. As the president, I volunteer to guide and lead my fellow committee and the Raffles students. In my opinion, I believe that if the leader does not move, no one in the team will move as well. With that said, my main character in the team is to inspire, be the one who always is the first to start off everything. At the same time, I have to ensure everyone is distributed with the tasks that suit them and the workload is equally distributed.

Finally, I am happy and satisfied with the SRC 2019-2020. They are hard-working and very supportive. One thing that impressed me is that none of us gave up when the pandemic hit us. We are still running as SRC, completing our tasks during the pandemic. I hope the next team will carry our legacy.

SRC 2019 - 2020

After over a year after being appointed at the Vice President of the Student Representative Council in Raffles University, the experience has been very great and fulfilling time well spent in University.

Being the VP of  SRC helps me to develop my abilities in leadership and teamwork via the activities we have done as a team.

I had the opportunity to deliver feedback between students and the university in order to ensure a comprehensive university lifestyle for all the students. Other than that, I have also faced a challenge to plan and communicate with people from different faculties and also universities which further enhanced my leadership skills and university exposure.

SRC 2019 - 2020

"I have the privilege to be selected as an SRC secretary. Throughout 2019 - 2020,  I have met a lot of Raffles students that come from different faculties. I manage to listen and discuss and collect their suggestions in our weekly meetings.

I have learned to be outspoken and open-minded to different opinions. Whenever I am available, I constantly ask the Uni mates for suggestions on what else can be done by SRC. Through the suggestions and advice from them, SRC manages to continue improving.

I am truly grateful to have such a team of amazing and cooperative teammates. In my opinion, I think we have learned the most from each other as we are studying at different faculties."

"I am very blessed to work with amazing people as one of the SRC members. We are students from different departments, different cultures and different living experiences. It makes us have different and interesting opinions during the discussion.

Also, we are helping each other when there is a need, and we appreciate each other’s helps. I guess this is the best example of teamwork. When I truly experience it, I feel the importance and the power of teamwork when we face challenges.

Things weren’t so smooth at the beginning. We have to learn to be a team, we also have to find a balance between our study timetable and activity for SRC. It makes me learn to be self-discipline to arrange my time properly to make things done on time.

All of these experiences I learnt, and people I met are the gifts from life, appreciate it so much."

SRC 2019 - 2020

"Before I was selected as an SRC member, I was lazy to be involved in any school or university activities. I did not also take the initiative to communicate with people.

But when I become an SRC committee member, my university life has changed. I always participate in the orientation and the event of the university. As a committee, I eventually have to prepare activities for the new students for Orientation. I have learned about leadership, teamwork and communication skills through the activities.

After taking part in the SRC, I have also met a lot of new friends. My English communication skill improves a lot."

"Being a SRC member, I have learned the teamwork. We have to cooperate to organise events or activities for RU students.

Unfortunately under the COVID19 pandemic situation, we are restricted to organise any face-to-face events. Yet, we manage to organise events on the virtual platform. I would say this is our achievement."

SRC 2019 - 2020

My experience as a student representative was quite new, fun and exciting as I get an opportunity to voice out my point of view and my friends to the management especially during this pandemic situation.

I felt like it made me more responsible in listening to others without being bias and weighing everyone’s point of view and making valid points.

I also learned to be a team player and my communication skill get better.

Moreover, I learned to handle sensitive issues without making the problem huge.
